CFDM bursary winners of the spring 2019 competition are selected

The Canadian Foundation for the Development of Microscopy (CFDM) has selected the winners of the spring 2019 travel bursary competition. CFDM is a charitable organization promoting development of microscopy and associated techniques by offering bursaries for students of Canadian universities to assist with travel expenses to participate in national and international conferences and workshops.

The CFDM travel bursaries were awarded to:

Dushyant Jahagirdar, a PhD student in Prof. Joaquin Ortega's lab at McGill University, who will attend the 2019 MSC meeting in Vancouver, BC, in May 2019 and present his work on "Understanding the role of YjeQ and Era in the maturation of 30S ribosome subunit."

Samantha Rudinsky, a PhD student in Prof. Raynald Gauvin's lab at McGill University, who will attend the M&M 2019 conference in Portland, OR, in August 2019 and present her talk on “The Impact of Phase on Mass Absorption Coefficients using Soft X-ray Emission Spectrometry.”

Frédéric Voisard, a PhD student in Prof. Raynald Gauvin's lab at McGill University, who will attend the M&M 2019 conference in Portland, OR, in August 2019 and present his talk on “EELS Monitoring of Beam-Induced Dynamic Transformation of Lithium Materials at 30 keV.”
