Dear Sir or Madam, Dear colleagues,
The future development of the COVID-19 pandemic is still uncertain and unpredictable, even for a time as far away as late summer 2021. We place hope in the vaccines but there is no guarantee for a timely return to "normality" to the extent necessary for holding a big multi-national conference.
The health and safety of all conference participants, speakers, chairs, and exhibiting companies are our top priority.
In order to provide all those involved with planning certainty at an early stage, the conference organisers, together with the conference chairs Johannes Bernardi, Michael Stöger-Pollach and Stefan Löffler have decided to hold the Microscopy Conference 2021 (MC 2021) as a digital meeting from August 22 to 26.
This decision was not easy for us, because each of us likes to talk and meet in person with colleagues, friends and companies. But being aware of the critical situation, we and the vast majority of the organising societies voted for a digital conference.
We look forward to an excellent scientific programme with top national and international speakers. As a digital conference, the meeting will have a number of special features:
- Content can be accessed anywhere and anytime
- Conference content will also be available after the end of the conference (agreement of the speaker required)
- Live discussions, chats and other interaction options
- Digital industry exhibition
- Exchange with colleagues in the lounge area
- No travel and accommodation costs for all participants

The abstract submission is already open. You are welcome to continue submitting your abstracts. Please note that the deadline is 21 February 2021.
